Mountain hut tip
Lo Retsignon
Base station of the Alpe Mandria chairlift in Ciarcerio
In addition to standard dishes such as hotdogs and hamburgers (although when ordering these, the cook may give an insulted reaction), you can also enjoy specialties such as Lardo e castagne (thinly sliced fatty bacon with a great aroma accompanied by chestnuts in honey) or variations of polenta.
Baita Ristorante Morgenrot
Bedemie, on the valley run to Gressoney
Cozy hut with a large sun terrace. You can also dine here in the evenings and travel back to the valley with the snowcat. The specialties include beef ravioli, "Robiola", savoy cabbage and Bagna Cauda as well as Chnéfléné (egg noodles) with Bleu d’Aoste (cheese), which is typical in Val di Gressoney. The calf's cheek braised in beer is a special hut dish.
Alpenhütte del Lys
On the slope from Passo Salati to Gabiet
Very rustic, small hut with original furniture and funny wooden sculptures made by the owner of the hut. Pasta and polenta are served as well as soups, salads, steaks and homemade desserts. There is a great view of the funpark from the terrace.
