Environmental protection of the ski resort Almenwelt Lofer
Mobility without cars is promoted strongly within the resort. A 240 m2 solar power facility at the base station of the Schwarzeck 8-person chairlift generates electricity to power several tow lifts in Almenwelt. A photovoltaic facility at Loderbichl also produces electricity.

The nearest train stations are in Salzburg (45 kilometres from Lofer) and Bad Reichenhall (25 kilometres from Lofer). - Ski buses
- Scheduled buses
- The ski bus runs every half hour and transports visitors to the base station of the Loferer Almbahn I from most of the accommodation in Lofer, St.Martin and Unken. Visitors with a valid ski pass can also take the local bus from Weißbach to Lofer or from Lofer to Waidring (Steinplatte) free of charge. Free ski buses run between Au, Scheffsnoth and Backwinkl to the Loferer Almbahn I base station.
