Environmental protection of the ski resort Alpenpark Neuss

The hall's annual energy consumption is equivalent to that of a large office building. The entire ski hall has been converted to LED lighting which has resulted in a major saving in electricity consumption. Waste heat from the compressors is used to heat glycol to keep the snow cannons and the floor below the supports warm to stop them from freezing. The ski hall's central location in the urban centre (Rhineland region including the major cities of Cologne, Dusseldorf, Ruhr area) means that travel distances are generally short. The ski hall has its own bus stop, direct links to train stations, a taxi stance (particularly at weekends during party hours) and optimal motorway links. There are also charging points for electric vehicles at the ski hall.

Public transportation/on-site mobility
