Environmental protection of the ski resort Alta

The Alta Environmental Center was created in 2008 to conserve nature and ensure the sustainability of the ski resort. Shrubs and trees have been planted, wetland areas are being reclaimed and measures taken to counter invasive plant species. Alta endeavours to save energy and recycle. Credits for renewable energies are purchased and solar cells have been installed in Alta. A programme is in place for collecting food waste.

The ski bus operated by the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) provides public transport to the resort. Shuttles are organised from the airport.
