The ski resort is located relatively high compared to other resorts in the Maritime Alps. Most of the slopes have snow-making capabilities and a reservoir provides the water required for artificial snow production. The reservoir can be refilled from the Tinée River in the valley. Auron has a long winter season that usually lasts until the end of April.
