Difficult slopes on the Birgitzköpfl, demanding ski routes on the Hoadl and Pleisen, as well as lots of freeriding terrain for powder and mogul enthusiasts. Axamer Lizum, the venue for the Open Faces Freeride Contest on several occasions, has plenty to offer experts and freeriders. A Freeride Checkpoint has been set up on the Hoadl. Unsecured freeride tracks are described on the Axamer Lizum website, for example, the Denkmalhang Dohlennest, Lizumer Grube, Hoadlsattel, Grubenbach, Kögelsteig, Pleisengipfel and Pleisen Rodelbahn.
