The ski resort of Bansko is located in the Pirin Mountains in the south-west of Bulgaria. Access from Sofia is on the A3 motorway (Awtomagistrala “Struma”). Sofia is just under 2 hours away. Other distances: Thessaloniki 3 hours, Skopje 3.5 hours, Belgrade 5.5 hours, Istanbul 6.5 hours and Bucharest 7 hours. There is a very large payable car park at the base station of the Bansko gondola lift. If the road is passable, a few other parking spaces are available at the mountain station of the gondola lift near Bunderishka Polyana. The main car park is in the valley.
