The winter sports resort of Coronet Peak opened in 1947 as the first ski resort in New Zealand. It is situated above Queenstown, a centre for adventure sports in the New Zealand Alps. The ski resort of Coronet Peak offers beginners’ areas, freeride opportunities as well as variety in the form of tubing. The impressive views over the surrounding peaks and Lake Wakatipu are a big attraction for visitors.
