The entire Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena is well-known for its cross-country trails, which wind throughout the valley. 100 km of trails stretch across the villages of Ehrwald, Lermoos, Biberwier, Bichlbach and Heiterwang. Some of the trails also feature artificial snow-making equipment. There is a 15 km long unprepared natural trail from Igelsee through the Gaistal to the other side of the Wetterstein mountain to Leutasch. From there, you can take public transportation or a taxi back to Ehrwald.
