Environmental friendliness of the ski resort Espace Diamant – Les Saisies/Notre-Dame-de-Bellecombe/Praz sur Arly/Flumet/Crest-Voland
Les Saisies has positioned itself as an environmentally friendly ski station and does a lot to meet this challenge. For example, electric shuttle buses, which emit eleven times less CO2 compared with normal buses, circulate in the village. The artificial snow equipment has been optimized to use less energy. The snowcats run on bio diesel and because they are directed by satellite, they spend 8% less time on the slopes. The ski slopes are maintained and used for grazing in the summer. There are animal protection zones for the rare wood grouse. Almost all restaurants serve products from regional farms, including cheeses and sausage products. The employees are trained in environmentally friendly behavior and there are garbage collections in the summer. The garbage cans placed throughout the resort ensure that not too litter accumulates in the resort.
