The Grand Tourmalet ski resort has some difficult slopes and an extraordinary freeride mountain with Pic du Midi. The ascent to the Pic du Midi at 2877 m is with the cable car. The following safety rules should be observed because there are no official slopes up there: The powder slopes on Pic du Midi require very good skiing ability, knowledge about weather and terrain. It is strongly recommended that you go there with a guide. There are also many freeride possibilities along the official slopes in the ski resort itself.
