Access, Parking Gurgl – Obergurgl-Hochgurgl
The ski resort of Obergurgl-Hochgurgl is located at the end of the Ötztal Valley, surrounded by snow-capped 3,000 metre peaks. It takes around one hour to drive from the Inntalautobahn motorway to the Hochgurglbahn I lift in Pill (previously Untergurgl), the first entry point at just under 1,800 metres. The car parks here are free of charge. Additional free parking including a multi-storey car park can be found at the Festkoglbahn lift at the entrance to Obergurgl. Parking in Hochgurgl (2,150 metres) and Obergurgl (1,930 metres) is very limited because the spots are usually reserved for hotel guests. Almost all accommodation is located right next to the slopes and there is no need to use your car at all during your ski holiday. You should always carry snow chains in the car as the road climbs up steeply from Sölden and at this altitude you need to be prepared for snow at all times.
