Slope preparation Hunau – Bödefeld
The slope preparation is very good.
As Fritz Senge, the Managing Director of the Hunau ski area back then, learned about the new slope grooming equipment in 1972, one thing was for sure: He had to have it. The other board members thought the large snowcats were "crazy machines". In order to change their minds, Senge used a trick. As the slopes were closed once again due to icy conditions, he organized a presentation of the Kaessbohrer Pisten Bully. It transformed the icy slope into a perfect ski slope in no time. The "crazy machine" was ordered on the very same day. The tradition as pioneers in slope preparation continues to this day on the Hunau. You can always count on well groomed slopes here.
General note: By new snow, an optimal slope preparation is not always possible, even with a large effort. In addition, the new snow can not combine with the snow lying underneath and moguls are created quickly. For safety reasons, usually no slope preparation is possible during operating times.
