Advanced skiing/powder snow skiing Idre Fjäll

Advanced skiers can find some difficult runs on the north, south and east sides of the ski resort of Idre Fjäll. In general, the runs are very short and sharp. One particular highlight is the extremely difficult Chocken run. It is one of the steepest slopes in Scandinavia. From the top, you have a view of the entire run. At this point, some skiers and boarders decide to turn around and take an easier slope back to the valley. The Chocken run is also used for the FIS Speed Ski World Cup, when speeds of up to 200 km/hr are recorded.
