The environment is an important concern in Ischgl and Samnaun. From the 2019/20 season, it is the largest climate-neutral ski resort in the Alps. Lift operator Silvrettaseilbahn AG has been supported by ClimatePartner and Vitalpin in this respect. Ischgl will continue to strengthen its efforts to reduce CO2 emissions in the future. Rubbish is sorted in the ski resort. A comprehensive ski bus network provides smooth connections to the lifts in Ischgl and Samnaun. The restaurants are connected to the local wastewater treatment facility via a sewage system. The use of solar and heat recovery systems allows the ski resort to save around 80,000 litres of heating oil per year. Flora and fauna conservation areas have also been set up in the ski resort.
