Cross-country trails at the ski resort Jakobshorn (Davos Klosters)

  • Cross-country trail offering
    Total trail length: 132 km

The cross-country trails surrounding Davos are snow-reliable and beautifully scenic. The trails start directly in the town and lead through quiet side valleys. The cross-country season in Switzerland opens every year in Davos. Around 4,000 cubic metres of snow are stored every year under a layer of wood chips. At the end of October, the snow preserved over the summer is used to prepare a 1.4 kilometre long stretch of trail to open the cross-country season. The Snowfarming project was developed in 2009 by the technical service of Davos with the WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF. Since then, snow has been stored over the summer in cooperation with the Swiss Ski national competitive centre for cross-country skiing. There is also a 2.5 kilometre night cross-country trail in Davos that is floodlit daily until 9.30 pm.
