Extremely modern lifts transport winter sports enthusiasts in the Kaprun ski resort of Kitzsteinhorn/Maiskogel. During peak season, the 12-km-long cable car route K-ONNECTION connects the Kaprun town center via the Maiskogel family mountain directly with the Kitzsteinhorn glacier ski resort. For winter sports fans, this means: ski-in ski-out from 768 to 3,029 meters.
The MK Maiskogelbahn starts in the Kaprun town center. The two-sectioned 10-person gondola lift leads to the close-to-town Maiskogel family ski resort. At the top station starts one of world’s most modern and energy-efficient cable cars: Salzburg’s first tricable gondola lift 3K K-onnection is the connecting link between Maiskogel and Kitzsteinhorn and leads to Langwied. The Gletscherjet 1 and Panoramabahn cable cars also lead to Langwied, but start at the at the end of the Kaprun valley.
From Langwied, modern chairlifts and cable cars transport skiers to the glacier and up to just below the summit. For technical reasons, there are several tow lifts on the actual glacier. With the Schmiedingerbahn 8-person chairlift, the resort is home to Salzburg's highest chairlift at 2,775 metres.
