A cable car connection opened in the 2019/2020 season linking the town of Kaprun directly to the Kitzsteinhorn. The connection is via the Maiskogel and the 3K K-onnection. There is a very wide selection of accommodation in Kaprun, some of which is close to the base station of the MK Maiskogelbahn lift. There is also some accommodation directly beside the slopes on the Maiskogel. On the Kitzsteinhorn, there are two accommodation options directly in the ski resort: the Krefelder Hütte and the Bundessport- und Freizeitzentrum beside the Alpincenter. Ski buses run from all over the Zell am See-Kaprun region to the base station.
