The glacier ski resort on the Kitzsteinhorn operates almost all year round. Snow production facilities extend from the Langwiedboden (2,000 metres) to the edge of the glacier (2,700 metres). On the Maiskogel, all slopes as far as Kaprun have complete artificial snow-making capabilities. Natural snowfall is normally very abundant. The ski area on the Maiskogel is generally open from mid-December until early April.
