Environmental friendliness of the ski resort Klausberg – Skiworld Ahrntal
Nature and the environment are an important consideration in the Skiworld Ahrntal. A regional focus is very clear on the Klausberg. The ski huts use mainly local produce, in many cases from their own production. In the summer, the slopes are green fields and meadows which provide grazing for cattle. The resort of Klausberg places great emphasis on recultivation of the slopes. The Ahrntal Valley is self-sufficient in terms of energy and production of environmentally friendly hydraulic power even exceeds the ski resort's total consumption, which means Klausberg is increasingly becoming an energy supplier. The energy generated from the operation of the “K-Express” 10-person gondola lift is stored and used to meet all requirements at the Kristallalm. Care is taken to ensure the highest possible environmental sustainability for all new projects. The “Snowsat” technology allows highly efficient preparation of the slopes with just a few grooming machines. The use of ski buses is promoted in the Tauferer Ahrntal Valley. There are charging points for electric vehicles at the base station. Another aim is to make the ski resort plastic-free.
