Since the 2013/2014 season, the world’s first diesel-electric snowcat has been in operation at Kronplatz. This machine produces 99% less particulate emissions compared to conventional snowcats. Renewable energy sources (green energy) are also used here. Forest areas are closed off in order to protect wildlife. There is a comprehensive ski bus network and the use of local public transport is encouraged. Since the 2011/2012 season, there has been a direct connection from Percha train station to Kronplatz.
