Access, Parking Mt. Buller
The ski resort of Mt. Buller is located almost 250 kilometres north-east of Melbourne (around 3 hours’ drive) and is around 8 hours’ drive from Sydney. A well-constructed road leads from Mansfield to the bottom of the mountain. From the Mirimbah toll, a steep and winding mountain road leads up to the car parks at the Northside Express. The road ends here and you need to leave your car. Day visitors can take the Northside Express straight up to the ski resort from the car park or take the free shuttle bus to Mount Buller Alpine Village. During the winter season, visitors need to pay a Resort Entry fee for each vehicle. It is also mandatory to carry snow chains in the state of Victoria (except for 4-wheel-drive/all-terrain vehicles). Snow chains can be hired in Mansfield or Merrijig. Significant fines are charged for non-compliance. It is not possible to drive to the accommodation in Mount Buller Alpine Village and taking luggage on the shuttle buses is not permitted. There is also no shuttle bus link to the overnight car parks so you need to book a payable transfer in advance to your hotel.
