Access, Parking Mt. Hutt

The ski resort of Mt. Hutt is situated centrally on New Zealand's South Island. The ski resort is around 1.5 hours from Christchurch. From the ski village of Methven, you drive towards Pudding Hill. You then turn off onto a gravel road and continue for around 14 kilometres up to the ski resort, over some very steep and narrow sections. The ski resort is around 30 minutes’ drive from Methven. Snow chains can be hired at the access road before going up the mountain. The road is closed during snowfalls or in unsafe weather conditions. Carrying snow chains in the car is strongly recommended.
