Almost the entire ski resort of Obertauern is heated using environmentally friendly biomass by the Obertauern heating plant. This enables sustainable generation of heat at an elevation of over 1,700 metres, even during the most adverse weather conditions. Electrical power is provided by the local energy supplier Salzburg AG. Winter sports enthusiasts must respect the boundaries of the ski resort and not leave the designated ski area. Ski buses round off the facilities.
