Environmental protection of the ski resort Pyhä

The ski resort of Pyhä has been a pioneer in sustainable tourism since the 1990s and in 2011 it became the first climate-neutral ski resort in the Nordic countries. The winter sports resort is located in the Pyhä-Luosto National Park. The resort places great emphasis on the implementation of environmental programmes to reduce CO2 emissions. The ski resort is operated entirely using renewable energies. Artificial snow-making has been converted to an automated, more environmentally friendly system.
