The beautiful natural environment is a priority for Red Mountain Resort and it makes great efforts to protect and preserve it all. The lifts are operated by hydraulic power supplied from the dams on the Kootenay River. A free shuttle bus provides a link between Rossland and the ski resort. However, a lot of disposable crockery is still used in the restaurants.
