Experts can find a challenging slope and lots of off-piste terrain on the front of the mountain in Riksgränsen. There is also some extreme terrain here with rocks and cliffs. You can even cross the border into Norway on powder slopes. There is also lots of freeriding terrain on the back of the mountain towards Katterjåkk. Heliskiing in Riksgränsen is a dream experience for experts. Helicopter tours can be booked relatively flexibly with Mountain Guide Travel in the Hotel Riksgränsen. You fly to the Abisko Alps and can then enjoy endless expanses of powder slopes. A guide leads you safely to the best slopes. The views are amazing and in good weather you can see all the way to the Lofoten Islands. In 2021, Skiresort selected Riksgränsen for the “Best Heliskiing” award. Helicopter trips can be booked to the following mountains (and more) in Sweden: Vassitjakka 1,360 metres, Låkktatjocka 1,440 metres, Kårsatjokka 1,450 metres, Vouitasrita 1,588 metres, Nordalsfjäll 1,051 metres.
