Advanced skiing, freeriding (powder snow skiing) Saas-Fee
As well as a few difficult slopes, the ski resort of Saas-Fee is also home to some well-known ski routes: Weisse Perle (Spielboden), Kanonenrohr (below Morenia), National (Plattjen), Galen (Plattjen) and Felsental (Felskinn mountain station). After fresh falls of snow, you can find some very attractive powder areas. Anyone wishing to go ski-touring or explore off-piste terrain should contact one of the mountaineering schools. Every year, they organise a selection of, quite literally, “top” touring programmes. In view of the resort's the high-alpine location, anyone wishing to venture off secured slopes should in all cases be accompanied by a mountain guide.
