The resort places great emphasis on gentle tourism. The ski slopes are closed when there is insufficient snow and environmentally friendly ski operation is an important concern. Forest and flora and fauna conservation areas are signposted. Ski buses are promoted strongly. There are charging points for electric vehicles at the Schatzbergbahn and Markbachjochbahn lift base stations.

Regiobus services complete the travel facilities. Ski buses also run between the ski villages in the Wildschönau. There is also a ski bus from and to Thierbach. The buses are free of charge for visitors staying in the Alpbachtal valley and Wildschönau.
