Access & on-site parking

The ski resort of Spitzingsee-Tegernsee is located in the Tegernsee-Schliersee alpine region, around 60 km south of Munich. There are two possible access points to the ski resort. The first is from Schliersee/Spitzingsee, taking the Stümpflingbahn lift or the Kurvenlift. The second option is from the Tegernsee Valley via Rottach-Egern taking the Suttenbahn lift. From the Munich area, most visitors take the A8 Munich-Salzburg motorway. From the Weyarn or Irschenberg exits, well-constructed roads take you to Schliersee and on to the Spitzingsattel. In snowy weather, it is advisable to carry snow chains as there is a high elevation difference on the mountain road up to the Spitzingsattel. You can access the resort from here taking the Stümpflingbahn lift or the Kurvenlift. From the Holzkirchen exit, well-constructed roads take you through the Tegernsee Valley and via Rottach-Egern to the Suttenbahn lift (toll road). There are 2,500 free parking spaces in the ski resort of Spitzingsee-Tegernsee. The BOB combi-ticket also allows you to travel stress-free by train to Fischhausen-Neuhaus (Schliersee) and by bus from Munich.
