Sportgastein is a paradise for experts and freeride enthusiasts. The black valley runs are challenging. With gradients of up to 70%, the S5 Schöneck is extremely steep. Beyond groomed slopes, there is a chance to enjoy powder snow on three demanding ski routes. The ski routes are secured against avalanches. The legendary Sportgastein is a real dream destination for freeriders. The high-alpine terrain extends up to almost 2,700 metres and provides access to a huge unsecured freeride area. You can tackle over 1,000 vertical metres on the way down to the valley in Sportgastein. In Sportgastein, there is a ‘Pieps Station’ (avalanche search area) and a Freeride Info Base.

The three ski routes of Golden Powder, Golden Rush and Golden Ride offer the chance to venture beyond the groomed slopes of Sportgastein and enjoy some powder snow.
