Advanced skiing/powder snow skiing Stubai Glacier (Stubaier Gletscher)
The Stubai Glacier has a comprehensive offering for advanced skiers and freeriders. Multiple black slopes, like the Daunhill with a 60% incline, are very challenging. Many ski routes challenge advanced skiers, such as the long and attractive Wilde Grub'n route to the base station.
The snow reliability and numerous freeride options make the ski resort interesting for freeriders. Freeriding is actively supported by the "Powder Department". Numerous freeride runs through open terrain are included on a separate off-piste map and captured as GPS tracks. Freeride checkpoints are located on the Eisgrat and on the Gamsgarten. A training area for searching for avalanche victims is located on the Gamsgarten.
Warning: The freeride runs are within unsecured ski terrain and should only be used with the appropriate equipment and a ski guide!
