The ski areas in Sälen are very family- and child-friendly. There are separate children's areas and lots of easy slopes in Tandådalen and Hundfjället. The children's areas feature funny Valle figures, moving carpets and some directly adjacent easy button lifts. The highlights include the Trollskogen children’s slope and the Naturhusen run. There are separate children's entrances at all ski lifts. The snowman Valle is always out and about in the ski resort and happily greets children.

Tandådalstorget Skidland (Tandådalen)

Right next to the base station in Tandådalen, there is a large separate area for families and children. Moving carpets and button lifts provide access to the easy and wide slope. Fun figures complete the offering.

Tandådalstorget (Tandådalen)

At the base station in Tandådalen, there is another children's area with a covered moving carpet. There is also a separate button lift here. The very easy slope features Valle figures and other fun obstacles.

Trollbäckstorget (Hundfjället)

The children's area in Hundfjället is called Trollbäckstorget and is located directly at the base station of the Langliften. Children can practise their first turns at a moving carpet. Right beside this are two button lifts and very easy slopes. Fun figures complete the offering.

Trollskogen (Hundfjället)

The Trollskogen slope passes through an enchanted forest and is a highlight for all children. Tree trolls and many other characters line the route through the dense wood. As soon as it starts to get dark, the Trollskogen is illuminated with hundreds of LED lights in changing colours. The Trollskogen starts at the mountain station of the Bredas button lift.

Valles Snölekis (Hundfjället)

Valles Snölekis is a fully equipped children's area with moving carpets, children's carousels and childcare. Ski school employees look after children from age 2 years or older. They can play and have fun in the crèche. A small hill for sledging completes the offering. There are also other fun games by the snowman Valle in the area. As well as a pram crèche for sleeping children. Children aged 6 months or older can sleep in the pram while their parents ski. As soon as the child wakes up, staff phone the parents who must then come back.

Östra Tandådalstorget (Tandådalen)

In the Östra Tandådalen children's area, there is a moving carpet for very small children and two button lifts. The slopes are very easy and ideal for children. Fun Valle figures complete the offering.

Naturhusen (Hundfjället)

The Naturhusen run is located at the Toppliften tow lift and is fun for the whole family. Children have a chance to learn about the local animals here. A description of the animals can be found in each of the little houses.
