"Tauplitzalm Dorf" is unique in Austria. It is a ski village at an altitude of 1,650 metres with accommodation for around 1,000 visitors, rustic huts and attractive restaurants. The "Alm" is a car-free zone in winter - snowcats and skidoos are used for transportation. The mountain village of Tauplitz, with a further 1,800 beds, is located next to the base station of the Tauplitzbahn 1 lift. In the village of Bad Mitterndorf, there are also some hotels next to the valley run. However, there are no lifts from Bad Mitterndorf to the ski area and access is by ski bus.
