Environmental protection of the ski resort Thredbo

Environmental protection plays a very important role in the Thredbo ski resort. The winter sports area is located in Kosciuszko National Park. Together with partners Red Energy and Snowy Hydro, the ski resort is supplied entirely with electricity from renewable sources. Since 2009, Thredbo has been working with Greenfleet to offset emissions from resort vehicles, including all the fuel used to operate the snow groomers and resort shuttle buses. Thredbo also collaborates with the NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service to protect native flora and fauna and to manage introduced species within the resort.
