Environmental protection of the ski resort Thredbo

Protection of the environment plays a very important role in the ski resort of Thredbo. The winter sports resort is located in Kosciuszko National Park. Together with partners Red Energy and Snowy Hydro, the ski resort is powered entirely by energy from renewable sources. Since 2009, Thredbo has worked with Greenfleet to offset emissions from resort vehicles, including all fuel used to operate the snowcats and resort shuttle buses. Thredbo also works with the NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service to protect local flora and fauna and manage species introduced within the resort.
