The evaluation is done as follows

Environmental protection of the ski resort Tignes/Val d'Isère

Preservation and protection of nature are an important concern for the Tignes and Val d'Isère ski resort operators. Part of the ski resort is located in the Tignes-Champagny natural reserve and is therefore subject to strict rules. Most of the electricity comes from renewable energies. Photovoltaic systems are installed at some gondola lift stations. Slope grooming machines run on bio-fuel and the free-of-charge local buses are powered by either electricity or bio-fuel. Travel by ski bus is promoted and waste is sorted in the ski villages.
