The Vals ski resort is located in the Valsertal and is best accessed from the Greater Chur area in the winter. A well-built road leads through the valley to Ilanz from the Reichenau/Disentis exit of the Autobahn A13 St. Margrethen-Bellinzona. A mountain road leads from there to the mountain village of Vals. The gondola goes up from the end of the village to the ski resort. Parking is free with the purchase of a ski pass. Winter Closure
The Oberalp Pass (Andermatt-Sedrun) is closed during the winter. There is limited auto train service from Andermatt to Sedrun.

- Vals has its own village bus. The village bus to the base station, back to the village center and within the village is free of charge. The Post Bus Ilanz-Vals-Ilanz is free of charge for skiers.
