The northern-facing slopes of the Ettelsberg comprise an FFH area (nature and landscape protection area) due to its valuable heathland vegetation. Skiing is only possible here under strict conditions and in the summer, the slopes are used as a grazing area for Moorland sheep. They pay close attention to the level of cleanliness at the resort and the restaurants use reusable crockery. The guest card is also valid for bus and train transportation within the region. The train station is only a 10 minute walk from the base station.
