The evaluation is done as follows
Gastronomy (ski huts, restaurants, eating at the ski resort) Winterberg (Skiliftkarussell)
The ski huts scattered throughout the ski area mainly offer relatively simple snack food (fries, schnitzel, bratwurst, pea soup, spaghetti, and of course frikandel for Dutch guests) in a rustic atmosphere. The self-service counter concept dominates and proves to be a guarantee for longer waiting times. During peak hours, it often gets very crowded, and the prevailing aroma is that of frying oil. The apple strudel is sometimes warmed up in the microwave and can end up a bit soggy. Generally, however, there is little to complain about regarding the quality and taste of the food. Another positive aspect is the generally low price level. It is also a plus that the restrooms are usually accessible without stairs.

Gastronomy tip
Bobhaus Winterberg
Mountain station chairlift Kappe – Lift 14
At 776 m, it is the highest refreshment station in the Skiliftkarussell and also towers above the rest in terms of quality. Here, guests can be served by the staff with porcini mushroom essence, Sauerland beer-braised beef, game from local forests, or guinea fowl breast. All of this comes with a fantastic view if you manage to get a window seat. The adjoining café serves homemade cakes and pastries.

Scenic location right next to the take-off tower of the distinctive St. Georg Schanze on the summit of Herrloh. Very rustically furnished service restaurant with 100 seats and a large south-facing sun terrace, a popular destination for many walkers from Winterberg.
