The cross-border ski area at the foot of the Matterhorn is the highest ski resort in the Alps and is one of the largest in the world. In Switzerland, the ski resort begins in Zermatt. In Italy, entry points are in Breuil-Cervinia and Valtournenche. The slopes in Switzerland stretch from the Rothorn to the Hohtälli, the Gornergrat and all the way to the Klein Matterhorn (3883 m). In Italy, the slopes reach from the Theodul Pass (Colle del Theodulo), over the Cime Bianchi to the Plan Maison and Salette. All slopes are directly connected. The Swiss section is a bit larger than the Italian section. All-year skiing is offered on the Theodul Glacier.
