The valley towns of Zermatt (1620 m), Breuil-Cervinia (2050 m) and Valtournenche (1524 m) are very high and the ski resort goes up to 4000 m above sea level. There are also more than 1000 snow cannons for artificial snow production at the international ski resort. Optimum conditions are found throughout the resort in the winter season.
You can ski throughout the year in the Matterhorn glacier paradise in Zermatt and Breuil-Cervinia. The Theodul Glacier is the largest and highest glacier ski resort in the Alps. It can be accessed 365 days a year from Zermatt (also accessible from Breuil-Cervinia with the exception of the off-season in the spring). The IDE Snowmaker from Israel also provides top snow production in Zermatt on the Trockener Steg.
