Access, Parking Zugspitze
The Zugspitze is situated between Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Upper Bavaria and Ehrwald in Tirol. From Munich, access to Garmisch-Partenkirchen is via the A95 motorway. The main entry point is the large Zugspitze cable car at the Eibsee lake above Grainau. Alternatively, you can take the cog railway up the mountain (stops: Zugspitzbahnhof train station Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Hausberg, Kreuzeck-/Alpspitzbahn, Hammersbach, Grainau and Eibsee).
The cable car in Ehrwald (Tyrol) is the main entry point from the west via the A7 to Füssen and Reutte/Fernpass and from Austria.
