Advanced skiing, freeriding (powder snow skiing) Zugspitze

There are no official difficult runs on the Zugspitze. However, if the snow conditions allow, you can find lots of unsecured powder slopes. There are also freeride checkpoints at the Gletscherbahnhof station, with an avalanche report and facilities to test the functionality of transceivers.

Information for advanced skiers, freeriders
  • many freeride/deep snow areas
  • no mogul slopes

General note: Always mind the avalanche warnings and barriers, please. Never ski into a closed and unsecured area.
